A journalist by the name of Soumyadipta Banerjee has written an open letter to rising Pakistani star Fawad Khan after the Uri attack, which killed 18 of the Indian military.

The letter demands Fawad pack up and leave Bollywood. Banerjee says:

“By addressing you (Fawad), I want to talk to every Pakistani import to Bollywood. This letter could have well been addressed to Adnan Sami, Raahat Fateh Ali Khan, Mahira Khan… the list is endless and keeps increasing every year.

He laments over India pouring money into projects with Fawad, such as the upcoming Ai Dil Hai Mushkil. “We give you so much love and money, but your country continues to ban our cinema and our artistes. We drool over you and give you some of our best projects…We are thinking of collaboration while your country talks of division and isolation.

In a sensational statement, he says:

“Fawad, you lack courage. You lack conviction. You lack the guts to stand up against the terrorists of your country who think they are serving God by killing us.”

In its closing statements, he snidely adds: “Take care and let us know when you are getting your air tickets to Karachi done.”

The letter, which seems to be written in emotional haste, has circulated on social media since it was posted on the 20th. Banerjee has since taken to Twitter to air his grievances, lamenting the cultural exchange between Pakistan and India and even calling Pakistan a terror state.

It’s not the first time Fawad has been caught up in political affairs. During the shooting for his previous blockbuster, Kapoor and Sons, Fawad was threatened by an extremist group, the Shiv Sena, posing as a political party.
