Bromsgrove-based full service PR and marketing agency, Impression Communications Ltd, has raised £240 for local charity, Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, in a sweepstake carried out for the European Championships taking place this summer.

Impression brought together members of the local community with the sweepstake that included the 24 countries within the tournament, with each participant donating £5 per entry.

The PR agency then doubled the £120 raised to donate a total of £240 towards the local hospice, as well as donating a brand new, official England shirt or M&S Voucher to the winner of the sweepstake, yet to be decided.

St Mary’s Hospice is a charity close to many within the local community’s heart, providing support to families and their loved ones during a patient’s illness and also after bereavement.

This support includes respite, symptom management and end-of-life care in the independent adult hospice’s inpatient unit, along with medical support, psycho social and spiritual care, and complementary therapies within a weekly day hospice.

Community Palliative Care and Hospice at Home teams, working in conjunction with GPs, consultants and other medical professionals, also care for many of the 1200 people a year supported by the charity.

Laura Rollason, community fundraiser, St Mary’s Hospice, said: ““We are extremely grateful that Impression Communications has chosen to support us with the proceeds of their sweepstake. It costs over £8million a year to run the Hospice and to provide crucial specialist care within the community, across Birmingham and Sandwell.

“This generous donation will help us to care for more families when they need it most, and help them to make the most of the time they have left.”

Mark Field, Impression Communications company director, said: “We’re delighted to offer our support to Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, it is important that the local community continues to get behind this incredibly worthy cause.

“Our thanks goes to those who supported the sweepstake and for embracing this enjoyable, collective approach to fundraising.
