Issue 191
Can you feel that cold winter wind? Well, survive the weather by sitting down with a cup of garam chai and the latest copy of The Asian Today.
We talk to double award winner Mohammad Zafran about his journey and winning both a National Diversity Award and a Pride of Birmingham Award. We also report on the #NotInMyName campaign and give our backing to all those supporting the initiative.
Once again, the past month saw the team attend various events which included the English Asian Business Awards, BritAsia Awards, comedy theatre productions Happy Birthday Sunita, My Big Fat Cowpat Wedding, the Las Vegas Charity Ball in aid of Delete Blood Cancer, Asian Fashion Hour Live, Strictly Dancing with Wolves and the inaugural Asian Cricket Awards. True to our commitment to community events, we also attended the Big John’s Cricket Final.
Issue 191 also includes an exclusive interview with Abhishek Bachchan, an in-depth look at the 1984 Sikh Demonstrations in light of the Conservative Conference in Birmingham and the latest with the Shrien Dewani trial.
Along with this, I would like to, on behalf of The Asian Today, wish all of our readers Eid Mubarak and a very Happy Diwali.
