At The National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham this Easter

Families looking for an aquatic adventure this Easter (28th March – 12th April) should visit The National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham.

To celebrate the launch of The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, visit SEA LIFE Birmingham between the 27th March and 19th April 2015 and take part in SPONGEBOB’S SPONGEHUNT! Help SpongeBob find his friends hidden throughout SEA LIFE Birmingham so that they can go on their most super-heroic adventure yet to find the missing Krabby Patty formula.

Also opening in time for Easter is the brand new Sea Stars, which will allow visitors to get up close and personal with these fascinating creatures. Housed in a range of impressive displays creating an ocean of dazzling stars, giant windows ensure fantastic visibility and visitors can get a tentacle-tastic close up view and discover the pop up bubbles and peek-a-boo holes.

Visitors are transported to an amazing underwater world and can see incredible sea life from all over the planet, from the coast of Britain and the chilly Antarctic, to the tropical waters of the Caribbean and the mangroves swamps of Southeast Asia.

The aquarium is home to over 2,000 creatures, such as sharks, as well as a rescued Giant Green Sea Turtle, otters, jellyfish, piranha, octopus and rays.

Visitors can also come face-to-face with a colony of Gentoo Penguins at Penguin Ice Adventure. The attraction takes visitors on an expedition into the rarely seen Antarctic landscape where they can marvel at the cheeky antics of these endearing birds from multiple viewing platforms as they dive beneath the freezing waters and play in their icy home.

Families can also explore the 16 themed zones and more than 60 displays, including Clownfish Kingdom, the Otter Sanctuary, Coral Cave and the incredible underwater Ocean Tunnel, which gives a 360 degree view of the 850,000-litre tank and get nose-to-nose with sharks.

If you want to get hands on, then the daily Interactive Rock Pool Experience is definitely for you. Visitors can get up close to creatures and touch crabs and starfish. Meanwhile, expert staff give educational talks where you can discover the truth about the much-misunderstood shark, the plight of endangered sea turtle, as well as the remarkable life of the seahorse.

Families will also be able to see daily feeding sessions for otters, sharks and rays. The centre is committed to conservation and SEA LIFE aims to breed, rescue and protect every part of our oceans and the sea life that lives within it.

During the underwater journey, visitors are also able to experience the amazing 4D Cinema. What’s more, The National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham is an indoor attraction, so the weather won’t spoil your trip!
