Pakistani Spinner will play in 2014 Season
Current world number one ODI bowler and Pakistani International cricketer Saeed Ajmal will be joining Worcestershire CCC. He will be returning to New Road for the 2014 domestic campaign, pending approval from the Pakistani Cricket Board and suitable visa clearances.
Currently representing Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates, Ajmal collected 4-30 with an economy rate of 3.00 in Pakistan’s first ODI of the series against South Africa. Across his international career spanning six years, Ajmal has taken 389 wickets for Pakistan.
The off-spinner previously served the County in 2011 and had a particularly successful spell at New Road. In Friends Life t20 action, Ajmal picked up 16 wickets for the Club in his eight appearances, including a fantastic triple wicket maiden against Northamptonshire to finish with career best twenty20 figures of 4-14. In just three LV= County Championship matches for Worcestershire CCC, the 36 year-old collected 17 wickets. He currently sits fourth in the Reliance ICC’s World Ranking of Test bowlers, demonstrating his consistent high quality across all formats of cricket.
